Well we’re half way through the One Room Challenge and things are FINALLY starting to take shape. You know that period during the renovation when you feel like it’s never going to end? We were there and then the floors went in and the bathroom started looking like a bathroom and hope springs eternal!!!!
As a reminder, we chose a luxury vinyl for our flooring that could hold up to boys, husbands and dogs (if the dogs ever decide to head down to the basement). I knew the flooring would look amazing but seeing really is believing! First of all, the lock in process is awesome and makes the whole process pretty quick. But hello! How real is this project getting now that the floors are down? Can we all say AMEN?!
We all remember the disgusting cement floor, the mold covered walls, and the drop ceiling with the panels hanging on for dear life. This room is going to be the main hangout for the boys and it already looks 100 times better. Do you hear angels singing because I do, seriously. It’s a miracle.
Here’s a shot of the floors in the newly constructed guest room. Check out that closet! Remember the plan for that? I’m wallpapering the back wall of the closet with some sweet peacock design paper and I can totally see if in my head now that the floors are in and there are walls!
The first photo below is our bathroom and where the shower will be. Remember the tile from last week? We’re going with the hexagon tile for the floor and I can’t wait for you all to see it with the tilework we chose for the shower! The second photo shows you where the sink will go. Next week I’ll have all the deets about the bathroom but for now, just know, it’s all finally starting to come together!
Last, but not least, you all know I love colorful rugs. I mean I've got them all over the house so I knew I wanted something fun for the stairs going down to the basement. I also know the only, one stop shop to get a colorful stair runners is Annie Selke . I picked out a bunch of options and let Paul and the boys vote on their favorite. . Below are the options I gave them:
Alright my friends, below is the one they picked and let me say they ALL picked this one after asking each of them separately. It was definitely meant to be. So Even if the rest of the basement isn’t finished, this little part just makes my heart so happy.
On that happy note, I’m gonna say goodbye until next week when we talk all things bathroom because it’s ALLLL happening. Don’t forget to go check out the progress of all the other amazing One Room Challenge participants by heading over to the ORC Blog . There are some jaw dropping projects underway!
See you next week friends!
