Week 4 One Room Challenge: Bathroom Diaries
Week four!!!!! We are almost to the finish line folks. Today I made rounds to all the stores to return extra flooring, bathroom tile and backsplash and it felt real good. You know why? Because we are wrapping things up! Alright, so who’s ready for a bathroom progress report?
As a reminder, this is week four of the One Room Challenge where participants take six weeks to renovate a room, or in my case, a few rooms. Everyone blogs about their progress every week so at the end of this post don’t forget to go check out the other participants because damn, there are some pretty awesome projects taking shape.
Last week you saw the shell of our bathroom. This week I’m showing you major progress by way of tile, toilets and vanities. Get excited! A couple of weeks back I showed you some tile combinations I was thinking about for the bathroom and feedback from you all was hugely in favor or the hexagon floor tile.
Keeping in mind that this is a basement bathroom that will mostly be used by my boys, and the occasional guests, I thought the hexagon tile would put a fun spin on the bathroom. It’s not a big bathroom but I think the tile makes just the right statement
Because we went larger scale with the hexagon floor tile, I kept the majority of the shower tile low key. Textured subway tile with a fun accent design in the middle of the shower wall and the shower niche pulls in the blue from the bathroom vanity.
And can we talk about the blue toned pebble tile on the shower floor? I love love love it so much!
The very first item I picked out for the bathroom was a dark navy vanity and marble sink. Because the bathroom is smaller, having a vanity with storage is a must. This has ample room for all the necessities our guests might need and lots of room for toilet paper so there’s no excuse for my boys to not replace the toilet paper roll. (A mom can dream, right?)
Next week we’re going to talk about the bar, sound system and sectional that are going in to the main entertainment space. The bar was definitely a bigger budget item but I’m pretty sure it’s going to get a lot of use in the coming weeks, months and years. Here’s a little sneak peek.
Tune in next week to see more progress on the bar and the whole entertainment area. It’s gonna be good! And don’t forget to head over to the One Room Challenge Blog to check out everyone else’s progress! Have a great week my friends!
xoxo
